Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the chicken pickle stay fresh?
Our chicken pickle stays good for up to 3 months from the manufacturing date when stored in a cool, dry place. Once opened, refrigerate it and use it within 30 days for the best taste and texture.
Is this made fresh, or is it pre-cooked and stored?
We cook in small batches and seal fresh, so what reaches you is not sitting in a warehouse. Every batch is made close to dispatch, which is why the flavour hits different compared to mass-produced pickles.
Can I eat this straight from the jar, or does it need to be heated?
You can eat it straight from the jar, no reheating needed. It's a ready-to-eat product. That said, many of our customers enjoy it slightly warm with fresh white rice, and the flavour opens up beautifully that way.
Does it contain bones?
Our chicken pickle is made with boneless chicken pieces unless specified otherwise. We aim for clean, easy-to-eat bites that don't require extra effort at the table.
Is it very spicy? Can people with low spice tolerance eat it?
The spice level is bold, that's part of what makes it authentic. However, if you have a low spice tolerance, start with a small portion alongside rice or chapati to balance it out. We're working on a milder variant for the future.
Does the sesame oil smell overpower the flavour of the chicken?
Not at all. The sesame oil we use is cold-pressed, and the quantity is balanced to preserve rather than overpower. It adds a subtle nuttiness that complements the spices without masking the chicken's natural flavour.
How is this different from what I'd find in a local store or supermarket?
Store-bought non-veg pickles go through high-temperature processing, added preservatives, and long supply chains, all of which flatten the flavour. Ours is small-batch, cooked low and slow, sealed in sesame oil, and made without artificial additives. The taste is in a completely different league.
